The Lord’s Warehouse experienced growth in 2006 when it served even more families, according to officials of the ministry.
The Lord’s Warehouse, located in Albany, is staffed by volunteers from area churches. It relies on freewill monetary donations to pay utilities, building repair and maintenance.
The warehouse gave food boxes to more than 250 families at Thanksgiving and filled needs’ for over 3,660 families and 11,550 individuals during the year. Some 10,000 pounds of Share the Harvest deer hamburger was also given away through churches, community action agencies. senior centers and other food pantries in the four county area.
People come from 54 cities and towns in Missouri, Iowa, Kansas, Nebraska, and Oklahoma to visit the warehouse. Clothing, furniture, appliances, all types of household items, food and building material have been donated to the Lord’s Warehouse and given away.
“The Lord’s Warehouse has become a blessing for the whole area, and the only one who gets a profit out of it is the Lord,” said Paul Drummond, pastor of the New Hampton Christian Church.
Current needs are food, high chairs, cribs, and toddler beds. children’s clothing, men’s clothing and working appliances.
“We can always use more volunteers", Drummond said.
The Lord’s Warehouse is open every Tuesday and Wednesday and the first Saturday of the month From 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. and Thursday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
